March Break!

AssalamoAlaikom HDIS Families,

This is a reminder that Friday, March 11th is the last day before the March break. Students will be back in school on Monday, the 21st of March 2022 from the March break. Mask will still be the requirement for all the students and staff members  which will be removed later in April Insha’Allah. Parents will not be required to show the daily screening starting 21st March 2022 but are encouraged to do so for the sake of safer learning community. Families are requested to integrate appropriate hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette at home and advise children to practice the same at school. We do hope that families follow the public Health guidelines if traveling during this break time and upon return closely monitor for signs and symptoms.
Together we can establish a better and safer learning community. We thank all parents for their continued support during the past challenging time. May Allah reward you greatly!

We hope that HDIS Families enjoy the March break.

Message on Hate Crime

#OurLondonFamily

Dear Community,

We are heartbroken at Hamilton Downtown Islamic School at the tragic loss of four members of a Muslim family in London as a result of hate crime. Hamilton Downtown Islamic School staff stand in solidarity with community at this difficult time while praying for the family.

This is the time we strengthen ourselves and unite against Islamophobia since our children may feel scared and unsafe after this horrific incident.

I have been receiving condolence emails from other Faith and learning communities for the Muslim family in grief. These messages show their respect for our Faith and school community.

May Allah protect every one and give the surviving child and relatives strength to cope with irreparable loss.

Ameen
